Nishio Forcing Chains test whether a candidate can be true by following the chain of implications. If assuming a candidate is true leads to a contradiction (such as a cell with no candidates or a digit with no valid position), that candidate must be false.

This technique is named after Tetsuya Nishio who popularised this form of logical testing.
