AIC with ALSs extends Alternating Inference Chains by incorporating Almost Locked Sets as nodes. An ALS can serve as a strong link within the chain when one of its restricted common candidates connects to the chain.

This powerful combination allows for eliminations that neither pure AICs nor standalone ALS techniques could find.
