Relaxed

The Relaxed profile strips the interface down to the essentials. No candidate notes, no technique names, no solving tools — just you and the puzzle.

What You See

What's Hidden

Relaxed deliberately hides features that can feel overwhelming if you just want to enjoy solving:

Mistakes

Relaxed catches mistakes the moment you make them. If you place a digit that doesn't belong in a cell, the app immediately tells you — "Not Quite Right" — and shows which row, column, or box the digit actually belongs in. Tap Explain to reveal the candidates in that unit and see for yourself why it doesn't fit, or tap Clear to remove the digit and try again.

You can't continue playing with a mistake on the grid, so you'll never reach a dead end wondering where you went wrong.

Hints in Relaxed

Hints still work — tap the hint button and the app tells you where to place a digit and why. The explanation walks you through the solving steps that lead to the placement, even showing candidate eliminations in the explanation view. You just don't see candidates on the grid during normal play.

Who Is It For?

Switching Profiles

You can switch to Standard or Deep at any time from the navigation bar menu. Switching is instant and free — your puzzle progress is preserved.

If you attempt a puzzle that's too hard for Relaxed (Tough or above), the app suggests switching to a profile with more tools.
